Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) January 22, 2014

mPATH announced today it has raised a $ 1.65 million seed round from JUMP Investors, which is led by Randall Kaplan, Co-Founder of Akamai Technologies. Over the past 15 years, JUMP Investors has invested in more than 40 early and late stage technology companies, including Google and Seagate Technology.

We are very impressed with the stellar management team behind mPATH, their vision, and the market traction they have already achieved with large enterprises looking to improve their mobile application infrastructure, remarked Randall Kaplan of JUMP Investors. They’re offering a truly unique solution that has the potential to become the de facto platform for mobile application development.

Now available only to private beta customers, the mPATH platform addresses the many challenges that enterprise organizations face as they design, develop, and deploy mobile applications. mPATH addresses the mobile application management lifecycle, allowing businesses to create rich mobile applications more efficiently and with better end results.

Founded in late 2013, the company is led by former senior Salesforce.com executives Claus Moldt and Trae Chancellor. At Salesforce.com, Claus served as the Global CIO and Senior Vice President of Service Delivery. His team of several hundred people was responsible for the day-to-day operations of Salesforce.com’s external infrastructure, which included Capacity Planning, Availability Architecture, Disaster Recovery, Datacenters, Network, Servers and Storage Infrastructure. Claus has more than 26 years of operational, support, and consulting experience supporting and architecting large scale, highly available infrastructures. Prior to joining Salesforce.com in 2006, Claus spent four years at eBay where his responsibilities included the delivery, availability, and maintenance of the eBay infrastructure. Claus has also held positions at Loudcloud and Oracle where he worked with Fortune 500 customers to aid in setting up scalable infrastructures.

Trae Chancellor joined Salesforce.com as CIO in 2006 and has held numerous senior roles there, including most recently as CTO, Integrated System Vendors. Under his leadership, the IT division successfully transitioned its operations to the cloud. Building on Salesforce.com’s own platform-as-a-service, force.com, Trae and his team deployed new automation systems that effectively supported the business as it grew from $ 400 million to $ 1 billion in annual revenues. Prior to Salesforce.com, Trae was Vice President of IT Application Engineering at PeopleSoft/Oracle. As a pioneer in software-as-a-service (SaaS) technology and operational models, Trae was part of the original engineering team at ExpertCity (acquired by Citrix) who built GoToMyPC and GoToMeeting. Trae holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M.

mPATH recently elected Randall Kaplan as Chairman and also added Matt Mihic as Chief Technology Officer. Matt was previously Lead Platform Engineer at Square, where he managed the development of the infrastructure underlying Squares payments and settlement systems. Prior to Square, he was Chief Architect at Okta, where he was responsible for engineering and operations of their next generation cloud-based enterprise identity management platform. Before Okta, Matt held senior engineering leadership positions at BEA Systems, Rearden Commerce, and IONA Technologies. He brings over 15 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering enterprise SaaS, middleware, and online transactional systems.

“The world has shifted to mobile and as a result there’s been a huge demand to develop mobile applications. However, companies are struggling to find the domain expertise to deliver these applications and its supporting infrastructure,” said Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Claus Moldt. “This is the area we are looking to solve by significantly simplifying the end-to-end management of mobile applications, including the time it takes to bring these to market.”

mPATH is currently working with several Fortune 500 companies as it continues towards its official launch.

“The more we speak with companies and individuals, the more we realize the pressures they are facing in developing the right mobile strategies, especially as mobile becomes a strategic customer engagement channel,” said Co-Founder Trae Chancellor. “There is a definitive need for the customer-enhancing technologies that mPATH is developing. Every week, we receive new inquiries from large enterprise customers who are excited about what were building and how our solution improves their productivity, efficiency, and interaction with their customers. We’re excited to have completed our funding, which will be used to continue to build our core development team at our Palo Alto and newly opened San Francisco offices.”
